FIN 3403 · Business Finance
How a business acquires, finances, and manages its assets, using the balance sheet as the reference point.
FIN 3403 is the finance course most Warrington students have to get through. It's a 4-credit course built around the balance sheet, and it covers a lot of ground between the first exam and the last.

How a business acquires, finances, and manages its assets, using the balance sheet as the reference point.
The course starts from financial statements. If accounting never fully clicked, the finance built on top of it gets shaky fast.
Annuities, loans, and present value show up in every chapter after they're taught. We make sure you can set them up without guessing.
In a large section, nobody sees where your reasoning goes wrong. That's exactly what a 1-on-1 session is for.
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

Yes. Send me the topics and your last midterm or a practice exam, and we'll go straight at the problems you're missing.
Yes. Most students in FIN 3403 aren't finance majors. We focus on what your exams test.
Tutoring on concepts and practice problems is generally fine, but policies on graded work vary by course. I don't complete graded assignments. Check your syllabus's collaboration policy, and if you're unsure, ask your professor.
Tell me your course and what isn’t clicking. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
