You sat in the lectures and thought you understood it. Then the exam asked a slightly different question and the points were gone. That is rarely a talent problem. It is usually a setup problem, and it is fixable before the next exam or the final.
Bring me your first exam and we will find where the points went.

You’ve seen the formula. You watched the professor work the example, and it made sense while they explained it. Then you sit down with a new problem, or a midterm question, and don’t know the first move.
Usually it traces back to one idea from a few weeks ago that never fully landed. Finance builds on itself. If time value of money is shaky, bonds get harder. If discounted cash flow is fuzzy, valuation gets harder. If you never saw why a formula works, you won’t know when to use it.
A private session skips what you already know and goes straight to the part that’s slowing you down. If your first midterm went worse than you expected, that’s the best place to start.
Plenty of high earners never learned how money works, and it shows up later as stress, debt and goals that keep slipping. Your kid is taking finance now. Helping them truly get it is the cheapest time to learn it.
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.
Three subjects from high school to MBA. Bring your slides, problem sets, and your last midterm.
College Board's newest AP course, fully mapped. Business fundamentals, markets, entrepreneurship, banking, credit, investing, and exam strategy.
The money class every student needs: pay and taxes, budgeting, credit, college costs, investing, and protecting what you earn.
Intro business finance through MBA corporate finance: the handful of ideas everything else builds on, made clear.
Watch a real problem worked start to finish, the same way we’d do it in a session.
Studying for AP Business? Watch the lessons and practice free in the Business Dojo
Business Dojo, our self-study course on learn.onlinefinancetutor.com, turns real course material into a game for teens, with short lessons, daily practice and a boss battle for every unit. It covers AP Business with Personal Finance, and all of Unit 1 is free.
Homework is up against the feed: 36% of US teens say they are on at least one major social app almost constantly (Pew Research Center, Dec. 2025). In China, the version of TikTok gives children under 14 a youth mode with a 40-minute daily cap and science, museums and history in the feed. Same kind of app, very different feed. Business Dojo fills that feed with the real AP course.

Chi Odogwu is a private finance tutor and a former PwC valuations consultant. He teaches corporate finance, personal finance, and AP Business one-on-one on Zoom, from high school through MBA, including midterm and final exam prep, at $250 an hour.
I earned a B.S. in Business with a finance specialization from Liberty University in three years, summa cum laude, then a Master’s in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis on a fellowship and a 75% academic scholarship. During grad school, I also tutored IB students.
At PwC, I consulted on valuations and private equity. The formulas from class were the tools I used every day.
I’ve spent more than seven years teaching and tutoring finance, including three years as an adjunct professor and a year teaching MBA finance at Florida State. I’ve seen where students get stuck from the front of a classroom, and I’ve used this material with real money on the line. That’s why I can usually spot what’s missing quickly.
Credentials only matter if I can explain it in a way that clicks for you. That’s the job.

No. We work through problems together so you can do the next one yourself.
That's common, and it's what the start of every session is for. Bring the material and we'll find it.
Yes. Most AP sessions are booked by a parent. Send the course and what's giving your student trouble, and they join on Zoom.
Earlier is better, because finance concepts build on each other. A session the week before still helps if it goes after the right gaps. If your first midterm went worse than you expected, book before the next one, not after.
