Each school covers finance in its own way, through economics, business electives, or the new state instruction. We start from the class your student is actually in.
Westchester's public high schools are some of the most competitive in the state, and its day schools set their own courses. With New York's personal finance instruction starting for ninth graders in 2026 to 2027, what students actually learn still varies a lot from school to school.

Required instruction starts in 2026 to 2027 for grades 5 to 12. It isn't a separate credit, so depth depends on the district.
The newest AP course, with the first exam in May 2027. I've mapped all 5 units and 31 topics and built 940 practice questions.
Students home from college often bring their hardest class with them. Winter break and summer are the best time to fix corporate finance before the next exam, and I teach it at the level their course expects.
In a school where everyone is strong, one shaky unit shows up fast in a GPA. We fix the gap before the test, not after.
Many students take a business or economics elective as a junior or senior. The finance in it is often harder than the course title suggests.
Compound interest and loan payments look easy until a problem stacks them together. We practice until the setup is automatic.
Parents usually book, and your student joins on Zoom from Scarsdale, Rye, Bronxville, Chappaqua, or anywhere in the county. Send me the course and what's giving your student trouble, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

Yes. I work from whatever course your student is taking, including school-designed business and economics electives.
Yes. Most families book evenings or weekends in Eastern time, and we move sessions around game days.
No. I work from the teacher's materials and never complete graded work, so sessions support the class instead of replacing it.
Tutoring on concepts and practice problems is generally fine, but policies on graded work vary by course. I don't complete graded assignments. Check your syllabus's collaboration policy, and if you're unsure, ask your professor.
Tell me your course and what isn’t clicking. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
