AP® Business with Personal Finance
The newest AP course, with the first exam in May 2027. I've mapped all 5 units and 31 topics and built 940 practice questions.
New York now requires personal finance instruction, and students starting ninth grade in 2026 to 2027 must get it before they graduate. Schools can deliver it however they choose, so what your student actually learns varies a lot from school to school.

Instruction for grades 5 to 12 begins in the 2026 to 2027 school year. It's an instructional requirement, not a separate credit, so depth varies by school.
Teams in the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition manage a $500,000 virtual portfolio for a client and are judged on strategy and research, not returns. I help students understand the finance behind it.
Students aiming for top business programs or investment competitions can start corporate finance now: time value of money, valuation, and how companies decide what to invest in. It's the same material I teach college and MBA students.
Because schools can spread the material across grades, some students get a few lessons and others get a full course. We fill in whatever's missing.
Between classes, test prep, and activities, there's little time to spare. Sessions go straight at the gap instead of reteaching everything.
Risk, return, and diversification show up in class and in competitions. We make sure your student can explain them in their own words.
Parents usually book. Your student joins on Zoom after school or on weekends, in Eastern time, from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, Long Island, or the Hamptons. Send me the course and what's giving your student trouble, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

I’m Chi Odogwu. I have a B.S. in Business with a finance specialization from Liberty University, earned summa cum laude in three years, and a Master’s in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis. I tutored IB students in grad school, did valuation and private equity consulting at PwC, taught MBA finance at Florida State, and spent three years as an adjunct professor teaching Business Finance.
I help students understand the finance concepts, like valuation, risk, and building a portfolio for a client. The research and report stay the team's own work.
Yes. Everything is on Zoom, so it works anywhere in New York, including summers out east, and in New Jersey too.
No. I work from the teacher's materials and never complete graded work, so sessions support the class instead of replacing it.
Tell me your course and what isn’t clicking. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
