Houston runs on energy, medicine, and finance, and students here hear about all three at home. Texas students who start ninth grade in 2026 to 2027 or later need a half-credit personal financial literacy course to graduate, and Houston's independent schools teach their own courses.

A half-credit personal financial literacy course is required for public high school students who enter ninth grade in 2026 to 2027 or later.
The newest AP course, with the first exam in May 2027. I've mapped all 5 units and 31 topics and built 940 practice questions.
Students home from Rice, UT Austin, and colleges across the country often bring their hardest class with them. Winter break and summer are the best time to fix corporate finance before the next exam, and I teach it at the level their course expects.
Students can talk about oil prices and markets and still miss the formula on the test. We connect the two.
How a company decides whether a project is worth it is the heart of corporate finance. We build it step by step.
Sessions run evenings and weekends in Central time, around sports and activities.
Parents usually book, and your student joins on Zoom from River Oaks, West University, Memorial, Bellaire, or anywhere in Houston. Send me the course and what's giving your student trouble, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

I’m Chi Odogwu. I have a B.S. in Business with a finance specialization from Liberty University, earned summa cum laude in three years, and a Master’s in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis. I tutored IB students in grad school, did valuation and private equity consulting at PwC, taught MBA finance at Florida State, and spent three years as an adjunct professor teaching Business Finance.
Yes. Corporate finance and valuation before college make the first business courses much easier.
Yes. I work from your student's own syllabus, whatever the school.
No. I work from the teacher's materials and never complete graded work, so sessions support the class instead of replacing it.
Tutoring on concepts and practice problems is generally fine, but policies on graded work vary by course. I don't complete graded assignments. Check your syllabus's collaboration policy, and if you're unsure, ask your professor.
Tell me your course and what isn’t clicking. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
