FIN 3403 · Financial Management of the Firm
Time value of money, security valuation, and the investment, financing, and dividend decisions of the firm.
I taught MBA finance at Florida State, so I know the College of Business well. FIN 3403 covers time value of money, security valuation, and the investment, financing, and dividend decisions a firm makes, and every later finance course builds on it.

Time value of money, security valuation, and the investment, financing, and dividend decisions of the firm.
Sections typically use a financial calculator. Wrong sign conventions or payment settings cost points on problems you actually understood.
Security valuation is time value of money in disguise. Once that connection lands, the chapter gets much easier.
NPV and IRR are simple formulas with a lot of judgment around them. We practice the judgment, not only the button presses.
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

Yes. We set it up together and practice until you trust it on exam day.
Tutoring on concepts and practice problems is generally fine, but policies on graded work vary by course. I don't complete graded assignments. Check your syllabus's collaboration policy, and if you're unsure, ask your professor.
Tell me your course and what isn’t clicking. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
