Where students get stuck.
Three decisions, one framework
The catalog frames the course around financing, investing, and dividends. Students tend to learn each as a chapter instead of as one connected framework. We draw how a dollar moves through all three.
Sources of capital
Debt, preferred, and common each have a cost and a claim on the firm. Questions mix them in one problem, so we practice sorting them quickly.
The first exam jump
Accounting problems have one right answer. Finance problems ask you to choose and defend. Learning to show your reasoning in a sentence is a separate skill, and we practice it.
Who takes FI 302
FI 302 is the business finance course in the Alabama catalog, and it sits behind AC 210 or 211 and an economics course, so it usually lands in the second or third year. Your degree audit shows how it fits your major.
