IB Business Management and IB Economics
SL and HL. Finance and accounts, Paper 2 numbers, and the research project in Business Management. Diagrams, data response, and the HL policy paper in Economics.
AP® Business with Personal Finance
The newest AP course, with the first exam in May 2027. If your student's school adds it, I've already mapped all 5 units and 31 topics and built 940 practice questions.
Corporate finance, before or during university
Many students here leave for universities in the US, the UK, and Canada. Corporate finance and financial statements before the first year make business and economics degrees much easier. It's the same material I teach college and MBA students.

Where students get stuck.
Evaluation, not just answers
IB marks go to students who calculate and then judge what the number means. We practice both halves until they come together.
The internal assessment
The IA counts for 20 to 30% of the grade. I explain the ideas behind it and help students check their reasoning. The work stays theirs.
Exam season
IB and AP exams both land in May. A few focused sessions in the spring go a long way if they target the right gaps.
For parents
Parents usually book. Your student joins on Zoom from home in Abu Dhabi, after school on weekdays or on Saturday and Sunday, in Gulf Standard Time. Send me the course, the level, and what's giving your student trouble, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.

Before we meet
Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.

On Zoom
You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.

Before we finish
The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

I’m Chi Odogwu. I have a B.S. in Business with a finance specialization from Liberty University, earned summa cum laude in three years, and a Master’s in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis. I tutored IB students in grad school, did valuation and private equity consulting at PwC, taught MBA finance at Florida State, and spent three years as an adjunct professor teaching Business Finance.

Before you book.
What time zone are sessions in?
Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4). Sessions run on weekday evenings after school, plus Saturdays and Sundays.
Can you help a student who switched from the British curriculum?
Yes. Students moving from IGCSE into the IB Diploma or AP courses often need the finance and economics basics filled in quickly. We find the gaps first.
What does a session cost in local currency?
Sessions are $250 an hour, billed in US dollars. At the fixed exchange rates that's about AED 918, SAR 938, or QAR 910.
Will tutoring get in the way of my student's teacher?
No. I work from the teacher's materials and never complete graded work, so sessions support the class instead of replacing it.
Is tutoring allowed under my school's honor code?
Tutoring on concepts and practice problems is generally fine, but policies on graded work vary by course. I don't complete graded assignments. Check your syllabus's collaboration policy, and if you're unsure, ask your professor.
