Finance and business tutoring for families in Paris.

Paris's American and IB schools prepare students for universities all over the world. Students take AP economics, the IB Diploma, or both, and economics is where the numbers start to count. I work from your student's own class.

American curriculum

AP® Business with Personal Finance

The newest AP course, with the first exam in May 2027. If your student's school adds it, I've already mapped all 5 units and 31 topics and built 940 practice questions.

University

Corporate finance, before or during university

Many students here leave for universities in the US, the UK, and Canada. Corporate finance and financial statements before the first year make business and economics degrees much easier. It's the same material I teach college and MBA students.

Diagrams that earn marks

Economics answers need the right diagram, labeled and explained. We drill drawing and explaining together.

Two exam styles at once

Students taking AP and IB together prepare for different question styles in the same May. We plan sessions around both.

Planning for university

Students heading to business and economics programs benefit from corporate finance before their first year.

For parents

Parents usually book. Your student joins on Zoom from Saint-Cloud, Neuilly, the 16th, or anywhere in and around Paris, after school on weekdays or on Saturday and Sunday. Send me the course and what's giving your student trouble, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.

How a session works

Diagnosis first. Then the fix.

  1. 01

    Before we meet

Send me what you're stuck on: a problem set, slides, your last midterm, a practice exam, last week's quiz.

  2. 02

    On Zoom

You walk me through a problem out loud. It usually takes a few minutes to hear where the reasoning goes sideways. We fix that piece and rebuild from there, so you know why each step works.

  3. 03

    Before we finish

The real test: a fresh problem with new numbers and different wording, the way a midterm would ask it, and you solve it yourself. I don't complete assignments or hand over answers. You leave able to do the work.

Questions

Before you book.

What time zone are sessions in?

Central European Time (CET, or CEST in summer). Sessions run on weekday afternoons after school, plus Saturdays and Sundays.

Do you tutor the French baccalauréat?

No. I focus on IB, AP, and university finance, taught in English.

What currency are sessions billed in?

US dollars, $250 an hour. Your card converts it at the day's rate.

Will tutoring get in the way of my student's teacher?

No. I work from the teacher's materials and never complete graded work, so sessions support the class instead of replacing it.

Is tutoring allowed under my school's honor code?

Tutoring on concepts and practice problems is generally fine, but policies on graded work vary by course. I don't complete graded assignments. Check your syllabus's collaboration policy, and if you're unsure, ask your professor.
